The Placitas Chamber of Commerce is not a member of the US Chamber of Commerce. Your Placitas Chamber of Commerce is a wholly independent community organization and we typically do not take positions on national issues. We donate no money to the US Chamber, and we do not endorse it's positions.

The original Placitas Chamber of Commerce was formed in 2001 by business owners Tom Ashe, Orville McCallister, and Bob Poling and was a formal corporation for nine years.  Although it disbanded in 2010, these original principals remain active in the community, preserved the chamber's corporate records and continued to support the annual Placitas Appreciation Day events at Homestead Village. The "new" chamber was incorporated again in 2015, and is formally recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity.

The Placitas Chamber sponsors a number of events — the annual Placitas Appreciation Day and Placitas Home Tour, along with biannual "Adopt-a-Highway" beautification and quarterly "Meet & Greet" networking events, along with other community-based events as time and funding allow.
